I am Aaron Russell's mom and wanted to let you all know that Aaron passed away unexpectedly this last Saturday July 12, 2008. We are are all deeply saddened by this tragic loss. I know that Aaron had done some vocals with 20grit a year or two ago and have attached a photo taken at that time by the band. Please accept this e-mail as an invitation to everyone in the band (and anyone else that may have known Aaron) to attend his Memorial Service on Friday, July 18th @ 1pm, at Daniel's Chapel of the Roses, 1225 Sonoma Avenue, Santa Rosa, California. Feel free to call me or send an e-mail with any other contact numbers you may have for other friends he knew via 20grit. You can also forward this e-mail along to others that may have known or worked with Aaron. Aaron often spoke of "Chazz" and also "Howard". If you know who they are please contact them, as it would be greatly appreciated . Anyway, everyone is invited to share in this Friday's celebration and memorial of Aaron's life. (Review) 20 Grit’s BEYOND DISORDER CD Rocks.
Their music is a Heavy, Dark, Powerful, Awesome Metal/Rock
There are not enough words in the dictionary to describe this cd .
*So let go visual. MEET DR. JECKEL and MR. HIDE!!
MR. HIDE rips you apart with pleasure on hard hitting songs like
Beyond Disorder, Black Ashes, Come Alive, Nothing Will Stop Me,
Round and Round (but this type of pain you will enjoy and say, "more please!!")
Then the good DR. JECKEL sews you up during Sunset Night, Papa
and Linda\ Jackie. These songs are slower and less aggressive but still
awesome.
The vocalist blows my mind on Round and Round with the evil dark laugh and
then high pitch screams. This mad metal vocalist does not have a rang limit.
Then you have Tommy Martian on guitar. He should be on the list of guitar
gods. This dude is awesome and sounds like no other. He must be the best kept
secret in metal and rock. His sound is awesome, his playing is awesome, and
his solos are awesome. I know what I want to be now when I grow up (LOL)

Jeff Jacobi, father of four, and lead singer for 20 GRIT,
suddenly and tragically passed away on Friday, Sept 23 2005.
All future dates are canceled.
An ongoing promotional campaign will proceed however,
his family and the band want his voice heard on the air.
Sales of the upcoming CD Single "Beyond Disorder"
and CD Album of Jeff's vocals will proceed also and
will help to benefit his children.

autographs, got a big show coming up in Monterey CA,
Our song Beyond Disorder airs on the XM Radio plays in all countries, Kid Rock is
hosting the show, will be played at least 7 times a day every day for six months.
Beyond Disorder will be released and played on
300 collage radio station, cable TV, Howerdstern satellite Radio and others.

The local rock band named "20 Grit" has signed what is believed to be a $500,000.00 (half-a-million-dollar) contract with Renaissance Records. The deal was announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Oliver Park, the A&R Talent Representative for Renaissance Records, 25, said: "We have great feelings about 20 Grit. They have demonstrated original talent and a lifetime of commitment to creating great music."
Park, who was speaking at a press conference at Renaissance Records' Hollywood office, worked as a Talent Scout for six months before Renaissance Records hired him as a Talent Representative.
It is believed the deal includes a commitment to give 20 Grit national and international radio exposure, where they have only had limited success so far.
The unique thing about the contract between Renaissance Records and 20 Grit is this deal does not take any creative or legal rights away from 20 Grit. Also, Renaissance Records will be taking less than ten percent of the profit from the sale of their next album.
Renaissance Records was founded in 1984 by a union of rock bands and musicians and has grown into a unique and cooperative force in the record industry, giving great support to the artists they sign. As stated on their website, the mission of Renaissance Records is to empower the great independent musicians of this world to thrive, to stay independent and to make a living doing what they love. Music.
20 Grit will release their next album sometime in 2005. The title and the exact release date will be published in April.

Fellow Grit-meisters...
Hey guys, i had a great time playing the tunes last nite, we're sounding pretty damn close to together, and my friend Sandy was VERY impressed...
Joe missed a great show afterwards, but i hope his girl was ok and on the mend now. Dave Meniketti is an amazing performer, and very personable....
he may actually listen to the cd we gave him after the show, and give us some feedback or, maybe even some promotion ideas or help....keeping my fingers crossed.
Hope everyone got back in one piece. i didn't get home till 4AM and was just getting kind of sleepy for the last 5 or so miles, had to shake my head, etc to stay awake. i'm sure i would have had more trouble had i not taken my bike, i get major hiway hipnosis late at night in a car.
Yeah, it turns out that i had made a committment for sunday with my wife and some friends, so my notion that i wasn't available this weekend turns out true
Hope Josh and Tommy get some good writing time in, and create more mega-hits to pound the charts into submission!!!
Josh played some real interesting and intense stuff last nite....his "drop-D" guitar lines combined with his amazing voice, produce a very powerful and unusual creation--a very raw, urgent sound, i see great potential there..
Tommy and I were exchanging "Wow-I'm impressed" glances back and forth...
I'm looking forward to the next full rehearsal on Wed...[i'm available to help with transportation....] since we're all taking off from work..do we want to shoot for 4 ish again?
now that we're getting so close to performance-ready, I'm going to contact my friend Brad and have him listen to our sound files. he's got connections with the Fox Theater people in Redwood City.....

As someone who understands copyright and trademark law very well, let me state these points
AGAIN
1. You CANNOT copyright a name. So, you (50 grit) are a liar sir.
You own the name of nothing.
2. You can trademark a name and each trademark you own cost 400 bucks per service you render.
That is one for a band playing live shows, one for merchandise, one for cd, and dvd marks, etc.
3. Bearing the last comment in mind. These 20 grit people only have one mark.
ENTERTAINMENT SERVICES, NAMELY, LIVE PERFORMANCES BY A MUSICAL BAND.
For informational purposes do a search on KORN. You will find the OVER 20 Trademarks that they own.
On that note, Mr 20 Grit man... you do NOT own a trademark that allows you to market your merchandise marked in that fasion.
Read your mark again:
ENTERTAINMENT SERVICES, NAMELY, LIVE PERFORMANCES BY A MUSICAL BAND.
You need to buy a separate mark for the different types of materials you will stick your mark on.
4. It is most DEFINITLY a trademark infringement to have a SIMILAR name to one that already exists. All someone has to do is make the case there could be some confusion between the two entities.

Hey all,
This is a day that I was hoping would never come. Last week we have decided that 40 Grit will no longer be a band. It's been a very fun and cool road we have been on. 40 Grit has been doing this for 7 years and to be honest we have little to show for it except for our fans and memories. We want to thank all the fans that have been with us since the beginning and all the new fans we have made over the years. The music biz has taking a toll on all of us in the band and it makes us sick to our stomach. There is so many bands with so much talent out there that will go without notice because of the way this industry is. Well, thanks for all the support.

We did a TRADEMARK search on the name 37 GRIT, 40 GRIT, 50 GRIT,
They did not have a Trademark for their names.
We where told by the attorney that a trademark which sounds to close to our name
cannot be trademarked.
We already contacted
37 GRIT, 40 GRIT, 50 GRIT,
and 40 Grit's record label (Metal Blade Records)
there was an article in power slaves it reads.
10.10.2003 - 40 Grit and Metal Blade Records have officially gone their separate ways after two full length disc releases.
Included in the catalog up to this point was 2000's debut effort 'Heads' and their latest offering 'Nothing to Remember'.
The band will be hitting the road (with Hemlock among others) for about a one month stint
before they head home to recoup and seek a new label.
