Bone Bash III, a classic rock festival hosted by the Bay Area radio station KSAN 107.7 "The Bone" (formerly 107.3).

Event Details

  • Date: Saturday, November 2, 2002

  • Venue: Chronicle Pavilion (now known as the Toyota Pavilion at Concord) in Concord, CA

  • Headliner: Journey

Full Lineup

The concert featured a powerhouse of legendary rock acts:

  • Journey

  • Joe Satriani (performing on his Strange Beautiful Tour)

  • Y&T

  • Montrose (featuring a special reunion of sorts, as Ronnie Montrose was a Bay Area staple)

  • Testament

Notable Highlights

  • Joe Satriani's Set: During this era, Satriani's band included bassist Matt Bissonette and longtime drummer Jeff Campitelli. He opened his set with "Flying in a Blue Dream".

  • Bone Bash Tradition: This was the third installment of the annual "Bone Bash" series, which became a signature event for the station and often featured collaborations; for instance, the finale that night saw Journey and Joe Satriani performing together.
