A student of the Los Angeles film school and a melodic hard hitting rock guitarist that has a modern sound that is firmly based in the best of guitar featured rock.
With inspiration from the greats like Randy Rhodes, Tony Iommi and Jimmy Page, guitarist Tommy Martin weaves elegant themes and melodies that have stood the test of time.
Tommy Martin has been in several Major International Publications, Tommy has been seen in: Rolling Stone, Guitar World, Revolver, Hails & Horns, Bam Magazine, Your Music Magazine, and Zero Magazine.
In 1987 Tommy Martin started a recording studio 20GRIT records, Tommy composed and wrote over 500 original songs.

Chase 1971 Ted Piercefield
Ted Piercefield was in an early seventies band CHASE, whose continued rise in the international music world was cut short by the tragic death of four of the band members in a 1974 plane crash.
On a couple of occasions, Johnny Carson and Doc came in to hear CHASE. Months later, CHASE played on The Tonight Show. Chase" and the single, "Get It On" came out. After the single made it to the top ten, Chase also bought an old DC 3 airplane, which used to fly to gigs within the central U.S.A. "maiden voyage" in the "Chase Plane", were about to land, Ted Piercefield looked out the window and saw the runway lined with fire engines. It turns out that one of the engines had stopped working. Chase landed with one engine, no problem. Right off Chase should have known about musicians and private planes!
The group was later nominated for a Grammy Award for "Best New Artist". Chase played two different Newport Jazz Festivals. One was in Newport and the other was at Carnegie Hall. Both were very exciting venues and Chase were well received at both.
While in New York Chase played a concert at Radio City Music Hall. Chase were booked as an opener for Billy Preston, who had a big hit at the time. This concert stands out as one of the "all time worst" gigs Chase ever played. It was a TOTAL mismatch, booking wise. The people that night were there to see Billy Preston! They didn't want to hear anything Chase were doing. Ted Piercefield was watching Terry Richards singing in front of Chase, and Ted Piercefield saw a pencil bounce off of his hat! That happened one more time when Chase were mismatched with ZZ Top at the "Warehouse" in New Orleans. They couldn't wait for Chase to get off the stage. It really wasn't funny at the time but memorable, to say the least.
Chase toured South Africa in 1971, and that was during appartide and the situation there was far different than it is today. They had many restrictions as to the mixing of races. Chase were only able to play one concert for a "non-white" audience. Good or bad, the people CHASE saw and met, seemed quite happy. However, Ted Piercefield sure Chase were only shown the "good side" of the situation.
The country and beaches were just beautiful. The people were great and the food was amazingly inexpensive. They also had wonderful champagne that was made in South Africa. It too was inexpensive and really very good. While in Cape Town with a couple of days off, some of the guys went on safari and some stayed and "partied" in Cape Town. All in all, a trip of a lifetime!
Chase also toured Japan. What beautiful and "super clean" country that was. Chase show was broadcast, "live" on Japanese TV, and Chase "still" filled the arena. The people from Sony were just terrific to Chase.
Chase were treated like royalty when Chase would go out to a night club or press event, or just shopping in Tokyo. Chase all loved Japan, and Japan seemed to love Chase!
Exposure to these professional musicians and experience in many different bands help hone Tommy's commitment to his vision and excellence in its musical execution.
After the plane crash killed 4 band members, Tommy Piercefield name was changed to Tommy Martin, Tommy has his grand fathers last name, Tony Martin passed away 1982

Tommy began racing BMX won his first trophy Dec 3, 1977 Tommy got 3rd Place. Years latter Tommy became professional BMX rider ranked #18 international in his age group. Won 104 Trophies.

Tommy’s band Conscience was offered a record deal with American Artist records, producer John Dote.
1987 - Leonard Haze Y&T / audition
Tommy Martin auditioned for Leonard Haze, the drummer from Y&T.
A limousine driver by the name Thomas drove Tommy Martin to Leonard Haze's home in Hayward, California. Tommy Martin gave Leonard Haze a demo tape, at a later date Tommy Martin and Thomas came back to Leonard Haze home, Leonard Haze opened his door and said they were looking for more of a blues guitarist.
1987 - Beau Hill Producer for RATT
In 1987 Tommy Martin drove down to LA Tommy stayed for 3 days and was hanging out in a club early afternoon hardly anybody in David Lee Roth was with 3 girls the next thing Tommy got approached by a guy he said he was a record producer his name is Beau Hill, the bands name he mentioned was Ratt he gave Tommy his business card cuz he liked the way Tommy looked and wanted Tommy to send him a demo.
1987 - Ozzy Osbourne Los Angeles audition
Tommy Martin was asked to go and audition for Ozzy, Tommy stayed for 3 days in Los Angeles couldn’t find where the audition place ended up recording his music behind a school, Tommy came back to San Jose, CA.
Tommy rejoined the band Conscience while auditioning vocalist, Pete Zeiner, the vocalist from New Jersey Pete says his friend Zack Wiled is coming out in three months with an album with Ozzy, Zack got the job. Pete Zeiner also friends with Bon Jovi,
Pete Zeiner moved to Santa Cruz, California. Tommy continued to keep contact with Pete over the months. Pete Zeiner introduced Will Pocket keyboardist from Santa Cruz, California to Tommy, Will Pucket has a recording studio setup in his home were Pete, Tommy and Will began recording music for battle of the bands, the last 30 minutes of the dead line for battle of the bands Will’s computer crashed.

1991 - Buddy Miles drummer
Buddy Miles stayed for one night at Tommy Martin’s house located 6th st San Jose, Ca. Buddy Miles played Tommy’s keyboards EPS 16 + Ensoniq. Tommy still owns today, the track was recorded not labeled with a name.
Buddy Miles slept in Tommy Martin’s bed with a blond-haired woman Tommy slept in another room in the same house.
The following morning Tommy and Buddy ate at Carrols restaurant off highway 17 in Campbell, California.
Buddy ask for $175.00 to get a motel in Los Angeles in return Tommy Went to
NAMM in Los Angeles with legendary drummer Buddy Miles from Jimmy Hendrix group, Tommy carrying a fender guitar with Jimmy Hendrix face painted on the guitar.
Buddy Miles wanted the guitar displayed with fenders booth, they told Buddy
Miles no, Buddy Miles asked Tommy to put the guitar back in the limousine, Tommy returned back hanging out with Buddy Miles and Neil Shone, guitarist from Journey, later that evening Tommy hung out with Rod Stewart guitarist.

Tommy's band Emerald City played August 13th Cabaret 370 Saratoga Avenue San Jose, California. with Eric Gales Band - Eric gave Tommy the thumbs up for Tommy’s guitar playing.
1992 - Tony Anthony Metallica audition 1986
Tommy met with Tony Anthony bassist who auditioned for Metallica he was the chosen bassist but Metallica got Jason Newsted.
1993 - Janis Joplin guitarist Sam Andrew
Tommy played at route 66, after the show At Route 66 Janis Joplin guitarist Sam Andrew came up to Tommy Martin shook his hand and congratulated Tommy for his guitar playing.
1994 - Tony Anthony Tommy Martin
Tony Anthony signed a contract with Tommy Martin, Tommy wrote a bass line for an original song had Tony re-record bass for the song called Since You Been Gone written by Tommy Martin. Tommy paid Tony $75.00. Tony Anthony Signed with Shrapnel Records.
1994 - Lonnie Turner Steve Miller Band
A personal friend Raymond Gallant of Tommy Martin drove Tommy up to Eureka California to meet with Lonnie Turner from the Steve Miller band.
Tommy made a 4 song promo to show Lonnie Turner the 4 songs.

Their music is a Heavy, Dark, Powerful. Awesome Metal/Rock. There are not enough words in the dictionary to describe this CD.
*So let's go visual. MEET DR. JECKEL and MR. HIDE!!
MR. HIDE rips you apart with pleasure on hard hitting songs like Beyond Disorder, Black Ashes, Come Alive, Nothing Can Stop Me, Round and Round.
Then the good DR. JECKEL sews you up during Sunset Night, Papa and Linda.. Jackie. These songs are masterful compliments blending musical feeling with instrumental technique.
The vocalist blows my mind on Round and Round with the evil dark laugh and then high pitch screams. This mad metal vocalist does not have a range limit.
Then you have Tommy Martin on guitar. He should be on the list of guitar gods. This dude is awesome and sounds like no other. He must be the best-kept secret in metal and rock. In 2015 Tommy Martin performed the guitar competition.
On June 27th, 2015 Rockbar opened its doors to some of the finest guitar players in the San Jose, California Bay area. Contestants got to show their talents on guitar and battle Satan Guitar Soul Collecting Fury for a grand prize of cool stuff and guitar glory. Celebrity rockers and guitar Gods were on hand to judge the guitar competition, lending their insight and expertise in all their respective areas.
The judging panel consisted:
1. Jake E. Lee Badlands, Red Dragon Cartel and Ozzy Osbourne.
2. Eddie Trunk That Metal Show.
3. Susan Cramer Owner of Rockbar Theater.
4. Warren DeMartini Ratt.
5. Craig Locicero SpiralArms and Forbidden
6. Erin Grupp Co-Owner of Rockbar Theater
Contestants had to prove their chops in front of the judges and then see if they could compete with Satan and his Demon band. In standard “Devil could care less style” Satan did everything he could to trip up the contestants by changing genres, speeds and styles on the fly.
Warren DeMartini was quoted saying “Putting guitar players to the test on different genres and the ability to jam and create on melodies on the move is something missing from today's playing, so it was great to see guitar players having to think on their feet”
Those guitarists able to make through the maze of shredding go on to the head to head competition with Satan. Till finally the winner is crowned and Satan lays down his guitar and walks off stage in defeat!
Jake E Lee was on hand to say “ I was looking for guitar players to not just get up there and play fast but to hold that one note with feeling, conviction and vibrato”
As guitar players hit the stage to prove themselves it became more evident that the talent on the stage of the local Bay area guitar players was in high form and the judges had their work cut out for them.
Eddie Trunk noted that the “Demon Rock Off at Rock bar was a great showcase for emerging guitar talent. It was competitive while also supportive and encouraging to the various players and a hell of a lot of fun! Great event in a great venue that I was proud to be a part of”.
50 contestants entered and over the course of the night were widdled down to one!!! Bobby Connally was crowned the VICTOR!! Able to hold his own through 15 different genre changes thrown at him as well as on his own solo performances!!
Rockbartheater plans on hosting another Demon Rock Off event this January 2016. Guitar players get practicing.

Building 6500. It is located adjacent to the main parking lot, which is the 2nd entrance with the marquis.
If weather permits, audio technology will have a sound system setup in front of the building when 20GRIT arrive. If the weather sucks, audio technology will move it indoors.
Once 20GRIT are all set up, audio technology will dial 20GRIT mix in and demonstrate to the students what instructors expect from them.
Then he will zero out the console and each student will talk to 20GRIT and run a soundcheck.
They will set the house mix first then dial in your monitors. Then we will have you play a song while they refine their mix. The instructor will listen and critique and grade their skills and then we do it all again with the next student.
There are 8 students and this is the last advanced class before they get their Certification in Audio Technology.
This is the future of sound techs that 20GRIT are helping out. should be done by 2pm, but have booked til 3pm just in case.
